TMJ/TMD Therapy
Did you know that the temporomandibular joint is the most complex joint in the body? This joint acts like a gliding hinge connecting your lower jaw to your temporal bone. Excessive strain on the jaw joints and muscle groups that help with swallowing, chewing, and talking can cause TMJ issues. Dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint can cause severe pain and discomfort.
Dr. Heinz is proud to provide TMJ therapy to those affected in the Rockford and Grand Rapids area. TMJ symptoms can present as difficulty opening the mouth; clicking, popping, or locking of the jaw; headaches or migraines; sore jaw muscles; teeth grinding or clenching, changes in your bite; and wear on the teeth. After your initial exam, Dr. Heinz will determine the best TMJ treatment options for you. He will then determine if any further orthodontic treatment is necessary for you. TMJ treatment typically lasts four to six months but varies depending on the severity of your case. Do you have any of these symptoms? If so, call our office today to set up your consultation appointment.

First of all, all the staff is fantastic, Dr. heinz is incredible. The thing I love about this office is its very upbeat and very positive. I never had one bad experience during the entire process. I had braces for 18 months and was in here all the time. The scheduling part was never an issue, they were very flexible with me. I didn't feel inconvenienced or pressured by the office. My whole family has been through this office, my wife, daughter and son all had great experiences.
